Going on Five

Happy Flag Day! Even better, Happy 5th Anniversary to us! When we got engaged over five years ago, people would ask when we planned to be wed and when we told people June 14th, over half of them exclaimed, "Oh! That's Flag Day!" I can not believe how many people would know that piece of information, so far in advance. Maybe there is more to Flag Day than I know about...

For our anniversary gift we are trying to choose a new blender (ours died ages ago) and if you have any suggestions let us know. I know, a blender? Life here is extremely hip and we find that we have to tone it down every once in a while... So to celebrate five fun years, I'll post five fabulous pictures of our big day five years ago!

Behind the Mt. Timpanogos Temple where we were married and sealed for time and all eternity.

The handsome groom

The well-shaded bride. Actually, this is my mother's Chinese paper umbrella. They've had it for as long as I can remember.

The full weight of marriage resting upon Neal's shoulders...

Fish faces at our reception (my parent's backyard). I made my bouquet and Neal's boutonniere and had fun doing it! Our reception was pretty fun - since it was at my parent's house the neighbors ended up bringing the whole family and so it was a fun atmosphere. We didn't get to eat very much though. It was still worth it!

I love you Neal and am so happy to have you as my own! Thank you for five fun/fulfilling/funny/funky (in a good way)/fantabulous years of marriage!

  1. Congrats, Neal and Jackie!! Beautiful photos :) Did you know that you share my parents' anniversary? We spent Flag Day in Philly and attending Flag Fest outside of the Betsy Ross house. Who knew that was their biggest day of the year?!?

  2. Congrats! I can't believe it has been that long. It seems like it was maybe 3 years ago... but then I remember that I had braces and no children. Goodness time flies!
Roman was so excited to find out it was flag day. I'm not sure why, but he talked about it all day long. I guess it was a holiday he could grasp the concept of. :)

  4. Congratulations! The picture of you with the umbrella is so beautiful! I just love it. I wish I could recommend a blender, but ours is really old too. (Do you ever use epinions.com for reviews?)
