Blogger to Book a Reality?

This is really quite frustrating - I have been wanting to make a book from our 2008 blog entries to keep at home and am really struggling to find a site to do this.  Blurb is the most popular and best-looking that I've seen but they currently do not support blogspot (they did in the past) and it doesn't look like they will anymore.  I've loaded my stuff onto Blog2Print and it just isn't user friendly for those like me who are PICKY about layout and the like.  And I don't know about Blurb but Blog2Print has an insanely low max pics allowed which means I'll have to bite the bullet and fork out for 2 books for the year.  Does anyone have any better suggestions?  I can't believe there aren't more blogger friendly blog printing places as you would think it would be a good business.  This was supposed to be our family Christmas gift but now I'm wondering if it is possible at all.

  1. Wow. I didn't know Blurb wasn't supporting blogspot anymore. I'd been hoping to do that with our blog at some point... I'll be watching this space to see if anyone else knows anything!

  2. It's a real pain- but I have just been copying the text from my blog and sticking it in Blurb. Suprprisnly it hasn't taken THAT long to do, but it's not hte easiest solution either. I just haven't found a better service, so this will have to do for now.
Plus I saw a friends blub book and it looked great- so I guess it's worth the effort.

  3. I sat down Monday night ready to make my blog into a book and was so mad when I saw they wouldn't take blogspot anymore! I was so sad! I should not have waited I guess. So I am right there with ya. Let me know if you find anything out.

  4. Blog2Print allows 350 pictures. Are you looking for more that that? The quality is quite good -- I've tried it. www.blog2print.com. What I also like about Blog2Print is that you can choose which comments to keep in your book, plus you can add extra stuff if you like.

  5. Blog2Print only allowed me somewhere in the range of 125 pictures - it wouldn't let me load anything until I whittled down the months of blog posts to pull. I don't so much care to print comments. My issues were that the cover and layout of the books were not easy to change and frankly I thought they were not very professional looking. I might look into it more but I must say my first experience was not the best. Like I said, I'm picky!

  6. Another alternative is to buy a hi-res PDF from blog2print and print it in your favorite copy shop.

  7. I read through the comments on blurb to see what other people had done. I found some software that will convert from blogger to live journal. Blurb will print from live journal, so they imported all right. I had some issues getting the photos in just right, but didn't get any more time to play around as other projects were more pressing. If you want to know more, email me. (I'm on the wrong computer to give links right now).

  8. Ze'ev - I don't know how hi-res regular pdf makers are in comparison but that just sounds like I'd be paying way too much money for something I could do on my own. I can already create pdfs. And I know how much it costs to do color copies and bind into book at copy stores. NOT the cheapest route.

Rachel - Now THAT sounds appealing to me. I was considering Suz's route but this sounds a little easier. I'll check into it! Thanks!
