Things are finally calming down here on the Kitchen front. Lily had a follow-up appointment at the pediatrician’s office last weekend and she is doing great aside from the fact that I think she got some stranger anxiety from her whole hospital stay. Some have suggested it is the age but I don’t think it is or that it is a major player here – it was a pretty night and day sort of switch from being the happy and super friendly kid to mostly happy but very fearful of anyone wearing a stethoscope kid.
She really is afraid of all medical staff and a lot of people outside our little family. It is so sad. She has perfected her pout which is cute in a way but it is sad to see her change like this practically overnite.
I am dreading her 4 month checkup next week.
She is definitely wanting more attention which is fine and I’ll oblige for a while as she went through a lot but I am tired and trying to get myself motivated to do more at home. I feel like a lazy bum. Her night time schedule is horrid after the hospital but that could be a little bit of being a baby. It is hard to say. All I know is there isn’t much that my body will want to do between 4 and 6 in the a.m. She is so happy and playful during that time, it is insane, she won’t even let me be grumpy at that hour.
I can’t believe I’m complaining about her being happy and playful but there you go.
Ooo weee, do I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world! Maybe I should start blogging before the crack of dawn. Hhhmmm, I will think about it, it could be entertaining for all of you to say the least ….
I suppose if you want to look for the good that came from all of this, she improved on her hand coordination while in the hospital, she has become a drool princess and likes to suck on just about everything but a pacifier (sometimes I would welcome the binky), and she likes to reach for her feet now. She really wants to sit up independently but it just ends up looking like she is working on some ab crunches. She is extremely ticklish and gets the giggles every time we change her clothes!
I do believe she has begun mastering the “fake cry”…
Lily is a real treat!
Ezra just would not sleep from 4-6 am. It was an absolute killer. I finally had to just ignore him. It's hard but so is being up at 4 am.
ReplyDeleteShe will return to her old self in time. Hopefully not too long though.
She looks so cute. I'm glad that you all are feeling better.
I'm so glad she is doing better! I'm sorry about the 4 am wake up call though. That stinks! I will look forward to your early-morning posts! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that she is doing better! She looks adorable and very healthy with those very squeezable cheeks. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteNow it is my turn to say it: "Love those baby cheeks!" Hope her schedule starts to balance out soon.
